BGSU Summer in Amsterdam Exchange
VU Amsterdam Exchange Program
 
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION  
During July and August VU Amsterdam offers 3 sessions of 2-week courses. Sessions can be combined to create a 4 or 6-week programme. Most courses are multi-disciplinary and are taught at various levels, from Bachelor to Master. The programme is suitable for graduate and undergraduate students as well as for PhD staff and professionals. The following entry requirements are set:

Bachelor: at least enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor studies
Advanced Bachelor: at least enrolled in 2nd year of Bachelor studies
Master: at least enrolled in final year of Bachelor studies - professionals need to have a Bachelor diploma

LOCATION
VU University is located in Amsterdam, the most populous city in the Netherlands, which is culturally rich and bustling.  The University is located 15 minutes from the center of the city, which is home to 50+ museums.

Housing costs will be paid directly to the provider. 

FINANCIAL AID
Because this exchange program is part of Bowling Green State University study abroad options, financial aid that could be applied to study on BGSU’s main campus can usually be applied equally to study in the program abroad. If contacting via email please include your name and ID number along with the program name and semester you are planning to study abroad.  For appointments, please also include several days and times that work for you.

In addition to financial aid, there are International Travel Grants and general Education Abroad scholarship opportunities that are available for students on the Education Abroad WEBSITE.

FEES/DISCOUNTS
The tuition fee of a two-week course is €1150. 

The tuition fee includes:
Airport pick-up service
Course excursions
Orientation program
On-site support and 24/7 emergency assistance 
A transcript of records after completing the course

**Not included are:
The social programme

Travel and living expenses

VU Amsterdam Summer School offers the following discounts:
Early Bird Discount* 
€150 discount for all students who apply for 1 course and pay before 15 March, 23.59 CET
Partner Discount*         
All students from partner universities of VU Amsterdam receive €250 discount on the tuition fee 
Combination Discount   
€200 discount when you apply for 2 courses, €300 when you apply for 3 courses
* Early Bird Discount cannot be combined with other discounts.

PROGRAM COSTS
Exchange Programs---Students participating in BGSU exchange programs will pay their tuition and fees as if they were studying at Bowling Green State University. Students are responsible for their own housing, room and board, health insurance, and incidental expenses.
