Program Description:


Enhance your Spanish level and cultural knowledge through a life changing summer in Alcala! Bowling Green State University’s longstanding commitment to cultural and language study is evident in the fact that our Academic Programs Abroad in Spain celebrated its 50th year in 2019 in the greater Madrid area. This program is open to graduate students only. **Targeted towards students in the CCP program but open to all graduate level students. 

Dates Summer 2019:

Optional pre-session field trip to Granada [included in price] June 28-30 (arrival required by Thursday June 27th).

First Day of Class: Monday July 1—Last Day of Class: July 25

The program is located in the city of Alcalá de Henares, on the outskirts of Madrid, Spain's capital. Students attend classes at the Escuela Universitaria Cardenal Cisneros which is affiliated with the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, an artistically, historically, and educationally rich institution founded in the late 15th century. Besides being itself a growing and flourishing center of culture and activity, Alcalá is also within easy reach of Madrid, a lively, cosmopolitan city of 4.5 million people.

Students who study for the July term will receive 6 academic credits.

  •  Spanish Culture and Civilization (3 credits)

Program Fee $2750: Room, Board with host family (3 meals/day, etc) and Excursions (Granada, Asturias, Toledo)
Education Abroad Fee $50
