BGSU students have the opportunity to study on the gorgeous coast of Wales at the University Wales Aberystwyth for a semester or academic year. Founded in 1872, Aberystwyth (pronounced Aber ist with) was the first university institution to be established in Wales. Today, it has over 7,000 students including over 1,100 postgraduates across eighteen academic departments.

Aberystwyth is located in Wales a country in southwest Great Britain known for its rugged coastline, mountainous national parks, distinctive language and Celtic culture. Aberystwyth is town know to be the center of national and regional culture and commercial importance. The castle, built in the 13th century, is a great place to hang out with friends and the beach offers a nice place to relax and enjoy the view. The town is friendly and welcoming, with a great mix of people, as well as an excellent variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants all within walking distance.

Students participating in BGSU exchange programs will pay their tuition and fees as if they were studying at Bowling Green State University. Students are responsible for their own housing, room and board, health insurance, and incidental expenses.
